Earn your Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
App State’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Elementary Education prepares you for one of the most fulfilling roles you can take on as an educator. This degree empowers you to widen a child’s view, spur curiosity and learning potential, and build community as a K-6 educator.
Applied learning is a big part of what our future teachers do at App State. All of our teacher education degrees have classroom experience built into them, equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to prepare you to enter the classroom prepared to enlighten, educate, and inspire.
App State’s part-time, night-time B.S. in Elementary Education offers a pathway for individuals with an Associate's Degree to earn their Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education without leaving the classroom. Individuals will be eligible for an Initial Professional Educator’s License in K-6 Elementary Education at the end of coursework. The part-time schedule is also ideal for any individual looking for a part-time evening program to fulfill the requirements for a B.S. in Elementary Education.
Participants will complete coursework in the B.S. in Elementary Education program, which includes one semester of student teaching. Classes may be offered full-term (16 weeks) or accelerated (5 weeks). The program is designed to be completed in two and a half years. Students will take at least two to three courses during the fall and spring semesters and four courses over two truncated semesters in the summer. The hybrid nature of the program will allow online and face-to-face instruction.
